Celebrating a Decade of Quarantine Awareness

south Korea is set to host its annual Overseas Travel health Day event, marking over a decade of prioritizing quarantine and traveler health. Originally established in 2013 as Quarantine Day, the event has evolved to encompass a broader focus on overseas travel health, reflecting the increasing importance of international travel and associated health risks.This year’s event will take place on May 13th and 14th at the Homeros Hotel in Busan.

Recognizing Excellence in Quarantine and Disease Prevention

The event will feature an awards ceremony recognizing individuals and organizations that have made significant contributions to preventing the inflow and spread of infectious diseases. A total of 54 awards from the Centers for Disease Affairs and 6 awards from the Minister of Health and welfare will be presented to quarantine officers, airport and port personnel, and other relevant agencies. These awards acknowledge the critical role these individuals play in safeguarding public health.

A key highlight of the Overseas Travel Health Day will be the presentation of the 2025 Quarantine Contents national Competition. Under the theme of quarantine for healthy overseas travel, the competition aims to raise awareness about the importance of preventing infectious diseases among travelers. Winners will share their insights and strategies for promoting safe travel practices.
