‘Tracker’ Season 2 Episode 3: A Recap of Biohacking Intrigue and Creepy Organizations
Editor’s Note
The following recap contains spoilers for Tracker Season 2 Episode 3.
Introduction
Tracker Season 2 Episode 3 continues the theme of biohacking, baseball, and the opioid crisis, presented with an intriguing plotline that combines these elements into a suspenseful journey. This week’s edition titled "Bloodlines" showcases the second contentious reunion of the season for the main character, Colter Shaw, played by Justin Hartley.
A New Job and a Surprising Motive
Colter Shaw meets Billy (Billie Matalon, played by Sofia Pernas) at a bar in Nebraska. The meeting is not just for a casual catch-up but for a job that Billy has lined up for Colter. The job is to collect the reward for a missing high school pitcher named Eric Dobbs. This promise of a reward—considering it’s $50,000 split between them—is more than enough to get Colter on board.
However, it soon becomes clear that Billy’s motive is more personal than just monetary. She confesses that the reason she’s willing to put aside their differences is that the town where Dobbs went missing is where she grew up. The locals might be more willing to talk to Colter, which is an advantage for them, considering their previous history.
The Biohacking Element
The plot thickens when Colter discovers that the missing pitcher’s girlfriend, Ashley, is missing as well. He and Billy get a clue to her whereabouts from a local teenager’s favorite make-out spot near abandoned train cars. In one of the cars, they discover blood and a trail that leads to Ashley’s barely conscious body.
Investigating further, Colter finds an empty blood donation bag and noticing it right away, he sends it to the lab for blood analysis. Detectives, however, are skeptical about his quick conclusions but the urgency is high due to Eric potentially being next.
The Creepy Organization
Meanwhile, there’s another twist—Billie meets a local diner owner who reveals that Ashley had an opioid addiction. It turns out Ashley was trying to save money for rehab by letting Eric donate blood, hinting at a deeper involvement.
Colter and Billy decide to break into the offices of Everlife Inc., the company whose name they found on the blood bag. Inside, they uncover a creepy scene filled with weird biohacking undertakings. The company is buying blood from teenagers to sell to its clients who believe blood transfusions can "reverse the clock."
The Capture of Billy
Things take a turn when Shane Nile, a booster with a suspicious character, re-enters the plot. Shane Nile has been Dawson’s silent manipulator and seducérant of women for personal gains. He’s involved in every likely domineering action, from supposedly monitoring the actions of the reward posted by the university for Eric Dobbs.
Billy isddotclose to quitting the job when she gets a car crash. Shane Nile is revealed to be the mastermind behind Eric’s blood extraction.
Colter, having figured things out, rescues both Eric and Billie just in time. At the end of episode 3, Colter interacts with Eric sparingly, showing they aim towards stronger bonds.
Conclusion
Tracker Season 2 continues to bleed action and excitement with its flawless execution of thrilling drama. Recurring characters intertwine in mystified contradictory roles only alleloved Colter’s troubled existence to shine with happiness.
