Argentine Barcelona captain Lionel Messi has donated a new sum of money to support Argentine hospitals, in order to fight the Corona pandemic.
The Lionel Messi Foundation decided to donate half a million euros to hospitals in his hometown of Rosario, and other Argentine cities after they donated at the beginning of the crisis about one million euros.
Messi, through his own foundation, joined the campaign entitled “Together for Argentina’s Health”, to help purchase medical supplies and auxiliary materials in the battle against the emerging corona virus.
The Spanish newspaper “Sport” said: “So far, the funds have been distributed through 6 Argentinian hospitals in Santa Fe, Rosario, Canuelas, San Martin and Buenos Aires.”
Messi paid about one million euros to Barcelona and Argentine hospitals, earlier, to decide to donate an additional amount in order to ensure the provision of health supplies for children and the elderly.
