Exciting Cast Revealed for “The Walsh Sisters,” a New Comedy Drama Based on Best-Seller Novels

The eagerly awaited comedy drama series The Walsh Sisters has just unveiled its star-studded cast. This upcoming ensemble series is based on two beloved novels by best-selling author Marian Keyes: Rachel’s Holiday and Anybody Out There.

Production Details

The first season of The Walsh Sisters is currently in production and is set in Dublin. The series delves into the chaotic yet endearing life of the Walsh family, comprised of five sisters—Anna, Rachel, Maggie, Claire, and Helen—along with their mother and father.

The Cast

The cast features a mix of rising talents and established stars. Louisa Harland, known for her roles in Derry Girls and Renegade Nell, will embody Anna Walsh. Caroline Menton, a rising talent in Ireland’s acting scene, will play Rachel Walsh, a character that has resonated with fans for nearly two decades. Danielle Galligan, who starred as Agnes O’Reilly in House of Guinness, will take on the role of Claire, the eldest sister.

Máiréad Tyers, BAFTA-nominated for her role in The Legend of_BB, will play Helen, the youngest sister. Stefanie Preissner, a versatile actress known for creating the hit show Can’t Cope, Won’t Cope, will portray the influential Maggie Walsh.

Aidan Quinn, celebrated for his leading role in Legends of the Fall, will captivate audiences as the Walshes’ father. Carrie Crowley, who stars in An Cailín Ciúin, will play Mammy Walsh. Additionally, American actress Debi Mazar will join the ensemble to play Chaquie, adding international flair to the cast.

Other notable cast members include Gina Moxley from The Patient Gloria, who will portray Josephine, and Jay Duffy, who has starred in Northern Lights, in the role of Rachel’s complicated love interest, Luke Costello.

Produced by Metropolitan Films International (Bray, County Wicklow) and Cuba Pictures (London), the series is funded by Fís Éireann/Screen Ireland and the BBC. Cineflix Rights will exclusively distribute the show worldwide.

Airing Details
