The school group gets a makeover

The school group has just received a salutary renovation, its interesting architecture having suffered the ravages of time since its inauguration in 1905.

This construction housed the kindergarten, that of girls and that of boys, from the age of 6, the mixing of genres was prohibited. The mix came, the elementary school opened to students up to 12 years old and the college Louis Cahuzac child of Forty. The kindergarten built at a place called L’Horte gave way to the municipal daycare.

Although the facades still retain their early 20th century cachet, they hide major developments and modernizations, work financed by the municipality and the county council. This imposing building defies the passage of time. It was even requisitioned in 1944 to house youth camps by the Vichy government.
