The company’s previous large investments were made at the end of 2017, when HKScan Latvia developed the production of frozen products at the Jelgava plant and established a new dumpling production line. The new workshop reached its maximum capacity already in the beginning of 2019, so the company sees the need to further develop production capacity.
“With the help of investments, we will purchase new lines for the formation and packaging of frozen products, as well as expand the freezer,” sales director Heino Lapiņš reveals the company’s plans. It is expected that additional investments will help strengthen the company’s export market positions, in addition, there will be production of products that do not yet exist in Latvia. In the near future, the company intends to expand its export markets, and it is possible that in August or September the meat products produced in Jelgava will also reach the shelves of Croatian, Romanian and Polish stores.
The beginning of 2020 “HKScan Latvia” has proved to be very successful, allowing the company to achieve the largest export volume in its history. In the first half of this year, compared to the corresponding period of 2019, exports have increased by 30%. Export growth during this period has been in all markets, but the largest was in the Baltic States and Central Europe. For example, the products manufactured by HKScan Latvia in Germany have been delivered up to 80% more than in the corresponding period of the previous year.
