The mountain guide and the climbers died after the fall in the Tatras

The Mountain Rescue Service (HZS) has not yet confirmed the identity of the two victims, but according to RTVS, the man had a mountain guide’s ID with him. Mountain rescuers stated that the pair fell about 200 meters and did not have a chance to survive the fall into the gutter.

Random witnesses saw the fall of the climbers and called the emergency line. The fire brigade asked for help from the Helicopter Rescue Medical Service. “Using a helicopter, a mountain rescuer was stationed on the spot, who found out that both climbers suffered life-incompatible injuries in the fall,” said the HZS website.
