In Saint-Étienne, Terrenoire has been celebrating all weekend. The secular association of the neighborhood celebrates its 90th anniversary ! The anniversary is celebrated in the park of the Château de la Perrotière. With a highlight this Sunday afternoon: three concerts including that of the group Terrenoire, the duo who grew up in the neighborhood before forming a group and launched their own label in 2017.
Terrenoire is obviously the pride of Terranians even if many have discovered it as a majority of French people with the advertising carried out by a large distributor in tribute to caregivers mobilized against the Covid with the song “Until my last breath”, which was a hit on social networks in December 2020. “We only knew this song and then we saw them on TV on the 2. We really liked”, say Annie and Corinne very touched that “these guys from us kept the name neighborhood”.
Their success “enchants us. They are returning from a tour of Albania”, notes Marcel Bernon, the president of the secular association of Terrenoire. He who knew Théo and Raphaël Herrerias when they were kids, when they came to have fun at La Perrotière. “Marcel Bernon was screaming and chasing us when we were twelve because we were doing a lot of stupid things in the park where he was the guardian!” Theo remembers amused. “There is something magical about coming back here,” says the musician. This setting has fed us so much, it’s going to be awesome! It’s an absolute joy“.
A song with Bernard Lavilliers
Another joy to come: the release of Bernard Lavilliers’ next album, probably this fall, in which Terrenoire participated. The recording of a title took place in July. “We composed this song for Bernard and then we co-wrote this song. He and my brother each have their verses and it’s about Saint-Étienne. They play two people who don’t have the same route, nor the same. age. It was very beautiful! “, confides Théo.
