MOSCOW, Sept. 14 – RIA Novosti. Germany hired the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) to verify the analyzes of Alexei Navalny’s samples. The German authorities said that the OPCW specialists took samples and sent them for research to “reference laboratories” in order to independently double-check the data obtained in Germany. As stated by the federal government , special laboratories in France and Sweden conducted repeated studies of Navalny’s samples and confirmed poisoning with a substance belonging to the “Novichok” group. As the representative of the German Foreign Ministry Maria Adebar clarified, OPCW specialists took samples “independently” and are starting the process under Article VIII 38 (e) of the Convention on the prohibition of chemical weapons. The article regulates the work of the OPCW Technical Secretariat. According to the document, the organization “provides technical assistance” to the participating countries and assesses “scheduled and unscheduled chemicals.” In turn, the official representative of the German government Steffen Seibert said that Berlin “moved one step forward” in working with experts of the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical At the same time, he stressed that Berlin will not specify which laboratories in France and Sweden conducted the verification of the data in the Navalny case. “I cannot give any information here that goes beyond the statement that we made. In early September, the FRG government, citing military doctors, said that Navalny had allegedly been poisoned with a substance from the Novichok group of warheads. In this regard, the Kremlin said that Berlin did not inform Moscow of its findings, and the Foreign Ministry noted that Russia was waiting for a response from Germany to the official request. According to the latest information, Navalny came to his senses, his condition is improving, the patient was disconnected from the ventilator.
