The FP Dual will have seven new cycles in Huelva in the first year with a scholarship

The bet for Vocational Training in its Dual modality takes a step forward next year because for the first time the students of the New training cycle projects will have to receive a 100% scholarship from the participating companies, which will be 20% in the case of renewed projects, although public or non-profit companies or organizations are exempt.

The Ministry of Education published its provisional resolution yesterday and reflects that in Huelva there have been Seven new training cycle projects have been approved, another 33 are renewed and two more are pending of the final resolution. Now a period of ten days after publication is opened for the presentation of allegations or express resignation.

Andalusia thus abandons the already reduced group of communities -there are four- that, as of next year, still did not establish the mandatory nature of this remuneration. However, this novel measure, announced on January 18 through an order from the Ministry, raised a question mark regarding the response of the companies.

The result is positive, according to this provisional resolution, since there are seven new projects approved –for six centers–, which are the most affected by the grant, a figure very similar to that of the previous year, when there were eight projects that started in Huelva. Then, the renewals amounted to 25 compared to 33 for the next academic year –for 19 centers–, according to the provisional resolution.

The order for the convocation of FP Dual projects for the next academic year establishes that the final resolution it will be issued in five days once the term for allegations or waivers expires and they are studied.

The dual modality of VET was implemented in Andalusia in 2013 and in the current academic year, in Huelva there are 749 students studying 39 training cycles in 22 centers in the province. Dual FP combines theoretical training in the center with practice in the company, with the aim of adapting this training to the needs of the productive fabric of the territory in which it is inserted. What makes the difference of the dual modality is that its program consists of more practical hours than those of the non-dual cycles.
