The florists of the city of Girona and the surrounding municipalities have chosen not to sell or distribute roses to domicile during St. George’s Day. According to the collective, they do it because “it is not a basic necessity” and that is why they prefer that people do not risk taking the roses at home.
On the other hand, in the rest of the Girona province there are establishments that they will open in municipalities such as Figueres, Olot, Ripoll, Santa Coloma de Farners or Llagostera (Gironès).
The president of the Guild of Florists of Girona, Eduard Mainegra, has explained that “many florists have stopped accepting orders because they cannot accept it” in front of the demand that they have.
