“After we make sure that domestic air transportation is safe, we will be ready to let our citizens out into the vast expanses of the global air ocean. Now, I think, we are not ready for this yet, ”said Transport Minister Yevgeny Dietrich on June 26. He then added that so far the hope of resuming flights in July is still alive.

When the borders are opened, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov does not know. “We will provide the Russian government with real-time information on how things are going abroad in terms of the epidemiological situation and in terms of how they (foreign countries. – RBC) open up to the outside world,” the minister said in an interview Russia Today at the end of June.

On June 30, it became known that the European Union did not include Russia in the list of countries for which EU borders opened on July 1. At the first stage, entry into the European Union was allowed for 14 countries. The situation with coronavirus in them should be no worse than in the EU itself, as indicated in the document adopted by the European Council. The list includes Algeria, Australia, Canada, Georgia, Japan, Montenegro, Morocco, New Zealand, Rwanda, Serbia, South Korea, Thailand, Tunisia and Uruguay. From July 1, Chinese citizens will also be able to enter the EU – if the PRC also allows EU residents to enter the country.

Aeroflot responded to an article on the implementation of luxury flights abroad

Despite continuing restrictions on international flights, Aeroflot, at least in June, began flying to the United States and some European countries, Seoul and Tel Aviv. Flights, most of which are operated twice a week, are registered as cargo flights, and tickets are sold with permission from the Federal Air Transport Agency, Vedomosti sources said. Aeroflot performs the transportation of passengers abroad if there are seats in the cabin of the aircraft used to transport goods (medical equipment, personal protective equipment, etc.), the representative of the airline said. According to him, a ticket for such a flight from Moscow can only be bought by those who have permission to enter the country of destination: diplomats, citizens of this country, Russians with dual citizenship or residence permit, etc.
