President Lord Allan Velasco said the House of Representatives is looking forward to a bicameral conference on the general appropriations bill of 2022 after passing bill No. 10153 of the Chamber. Eric Yap, chair of the House Appropriations Committee and ACT-CIS representative, says 35 printed copies of the budget bill were sent to the Senate on Monday, two days before the October 27 target. But House leaders remained silent on how they came up with amendments, worth P65 billion, that realigned funds for the COVID-19 medical response, special risk allowances for healthcare workers and assistance to the affected sectors. —JULES M.
