AN AMERICAN ASTRONAUT who recorded the music of the Chieftains even though aboard the Intercontinental House Station compensated tribute to the band’s founder Paddy Moloney, who died yesterday at the age of 83.
Cady Coleman was the first individual to report audio for an album in space when she performed three music for the Chieftains 50th anniversary album in 2010.
The band had sent Coleman, who befriended Moloney in the late 1990s, devices to perform for the duration of a mission aboard the ISS.
In 2012, Coleman informed the Irish Impartial that, with the blessing of NASA, she was able to stream the music that finished up on earth by means of the onboard satellite mobile phone.

Moloney’s demise was confirmed yesterday afternoon.
The bagpiper, composer and producer was from Donnycarney in Dublin. Moloney grew up in a family members of musicians and played numerous devices including the tin whistle and uilleann pipes. He was a pupil of the famous piper Leo Rowsome.
Moloney originally shaped The Chieftains in 1962. In their nearly six-ten years career they have been Grammy Award winners six times and have been acknowledged internationally for reinventing Irish audio and transcending musical boundaries.
More than the a long time they have collaborated or performed with artists as various as Emmylou Harris, The Dubliners, Tom Jones and The Rolling Stones.
