at Woodlawn Cemetery in New York

The 5th NY Hideyo Noguchi Memorial Scholarship Award Ceremony was also held at the venue.

To honor the great achievements of Dr. Hideyo Noguchi, a world-famous bacteriologist born in Japan, to pass on his virtues to future generations, and to support young Japanese researchers who aspire to pursue a career in medicine in the United States. The New York Hideyo Noguchi Memorial Society (HNMS) (Representative: Shunichi Homma) will hold the 95th Hideyo Noguchi Grave Visit and the 5th New York Hideyo Noguchi Memorial Scholarship on May 21 at Woodlawn Cemetery in the Bronx, New York. The award ceremony will be held as follows.

While the impact of the spread of the new coronavirus infection that began two years ago continues, even in a small group of people, while paying attention to infection control measures, we will remember the achievements of our great predecessor, Dr. Noguchi, and pass on his spirit and virtue to future generations. Based on the strong desire of the local Japanese and volunteers to convey this message, HNMS has decided to hold a grave visitation ceremony on this day, which is the anniversary of the death of Dr. HNMS, again this year.
