Teya Akhvlediani presented a scholarship named after Kosta Khetagurov to an outstanding student from the occupied Tskhinvali region

State Minister for Reconciliation and Civic Equality Teya Akhvlediani awarded a scholarship named after Kosta Khetagurov to Anna Barbakadze, a distinguished student from the occupied Tskhinvali region.

Ilia State University student Anna Barbakadze graduated from a secondary school in the village of Sinaguri in the Java region of the occupied Tskhinvali region and successfully passed the Unified National Examinations in the territory controlled by the central government of Georgia. The student will receive 300 lari monthly as a scholarship for four years of study.

“The scholarships named after Dmitry Gulia and Kosta Khetagurov were established in 2018 at the initiative of the Office of the State Minister and with the support of the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia and are intended for students from the occupied territories who showed the best results in the Unified National Examinations,” the ministry said in a statement.
