All pilot projects of cultural and sporting events which were to receive an audience in Berlin have been suspended until further notice. Last Saturday evening, however, a test event took place at the Holzmarkt site, where Club KaterBlau is also located. The event was sold out and, according to the organizers, around 70 people attended. All participants first had to register online, take a quick test and wear a mask.
“Pilot events cannot take place and must all be postponed”
According to the Berlin Clubs Commission, the project was “ a spark of hope “. Lutz Leichsenring, spokesperson for the organization, told the German news agency on Sunday: “ It was a complete success, we can build on it. I am happy to see that cultural life is possible. »
But the mood deteriorated a little later when Prime Minister Müller said that despite the success of previous pilot projects, the health situation worsened: “ This means that from now on, other pilot events cannot take place and must all be postponed. We will take a close look at the situation before resuming the tests and make them dependent on the evolution of the number of infections. »
Another atmosphere in Spain
That same weekend in Barcelona indeed took place a major event with a total of 5,000 dancers without any rule of distance, during a performance by the Spanish indie pop group Love Of Lesbians – the event had been authorized by the Spanish health authority. One day before the big concert, all visitors had to take a quick test; people between the ages of 18 and 65 were only allowed to access the site with a negative test result. Their temperature was taken at the entrance and FFP2 masks were distributed.
