Microsoft has announced a series of improvements coming to Microsoft 365 to help IT professionals. But the two most important news that emerge from today's revelations is that Windows Virtual Desktop is now in public preview and the Defender Advanced Threat Protection (ATP) of Microsoft Defender, formerly known as Windows Defender ATP, is expanding on Mac devices.
With Windows Virtual Desktop in public preview, IT professionals will be able to quickly "deploy and scale" Windows desktops and apps on Azure. "Windows Virtual Desktop is the only service that offers simplified management, multi-session Windows 10, optimizations for Office 365 ProPlus and support for Remote Desktop Services (RDS) environments in a shared public cloud," Microsoft said in his ad.
For IT professionals working with Macs as part of their managed devices, you can now take advantage of Microsoft Defender ATP. According to Microsoft, the expansion of Mac devices was the main driving force behind changing the service name, replacing the Microsoft Windows moniker.
