KL Rahul destroyed his first Indian hundred Premier League, while Chris Gayle struck a 63-ball 63 for Kings XI Punjab to an impressive 197/4 against Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede stadium on Wednesday.
Gayle, who broke seven towering breasts and also hit three four, placed the platform for the grand total, while his opening partner Rahul brought his bat to stay untouched on 100, with six sixes and four.
The stand of 116 duo players in 77 balls took MI assault. Gayle's layoff in the 13th slowed the innings, but Rahul punished Hardik Pandya by hitting three six and a four in 19, which yielded 25 runs. Thirteen came out of the final to increase the total.
Rahul went on the offensive in the last two overs and in the process he completed his century.
Twitter was impressed by the performance of the right, and many wondered if he should beat the No 4 for India in the next World Cup.
