Just before the holidays last month, a Google beta application disabled the new Assistant in Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL. Another beta error today breaks Google Assistant in Wear OS.
After updating to the latest beta version of the Google application (currently 10.92.8), the Assistant does not start in Wear OS. Holding down the power button generates a vibration, but does not open the voice search interface. “Hello Google” can not start the “Hello, how can I help?” Screen, while opening from the watch face is not effective either.
The ability to send messages or set voice timers is over, while Google Search is not accessible. That said, the weather and reminders are still available despite the assistant’s problem.
If the Wizard is key to using Wear OS, you can uninstall the latest version: Settings> Applications and notifications> Application information> System applications> Google> Remove updates. This will not affect the application on your phone.
A future update or the next stable version should resolve the Google Assistant in Wear OS broken. Google’s beta application generally offers a relatively stable experience despite the experimental nature of the channel.
