Audi has introduced a pair of new SUVs that will come to the United States. The 2020 Audi SQ7 is the first performance variant of the recently updated three-row SUV sold in the United States. The SQ8 will be located between the Audi Q8 and the RS Q8. Both the SQ7 and SQ8 SUVs share the same 4.0-liter V8 biturbo engine that generates 500 hp and 568 lb-ft of torque.
The power reaches all four wheels through an eight-speed Tiptronic transmission and four-wheel drive Quattro standard. Both S models can reach 60 mph from a standstill in 4.3 seconds and have a top speed of 155 mph. The Quattro system divides 40:60 torque from front to back and can send up to 80% of the power to the rear axle.
Vehicles have steering on the rear wheels to help maneuverability at low speed and stability at high speeds. Both SUVs also have electromechanical active roller stabilization available that can harden the front and rear stabilizer bars when dynamic driving is required.
Audi adapts to the SQ7 and SQ8 with Alu-optic or Black-optic design elements, which include air intake blades, side blades, standard silver mirror caps and quadruple exhaust outlets. The SQ7 has an octagonal Singleframe grill and will offer 20 or 21 inch wheels. The SQ8 will have an Alu-optical grid frame and standard 21 or 22 inch wheels available.
Audi says that SUVs will land in showrooms at the end of spring 2020. It will announce the final price and packaging closer to the date of sale of the vehicles. You can bet that high-end SUVs with 500 hp will be expensive trips.
