Square Enix has announced delays in two of its most anticipated 2020 games: Final Fantasy VII Remake has been pushed from March 3 to April 10, while next Marvel’s Avengers It has been delayed from May 15 to September 4.
The development teams of both games explain their respective delays as needed to give developers more time to polish the gaming experiences.
“We are making this difficult decision to give us a few more weeks to apply the final enamel to the game and give you the best possible experience,” said Yoshinori Kitase, the producer of Final Fantasy VII Remake. “I, on behalf of the whole team, want to apologize to everyone, since I know this means waiting a little longer for the game. Thank you for your patience and continued support. “
Scot Amos and Ron Rosenberg, the heads of Crystal Dynamics, published a similar statement about Marvel Avengers: “We will spend this additional development time focusing on refining and polishing the game to the high standards that our fans expect and deserve.”
