Design

With its "shark fin" motorized pop-up camera and its incredibly narrow frames without even needing a notch, Oppo Reno 10x zoom is the aesthetic innovation turned into a phone. But the Samsung Galaxy S10 is what I would go for, not only for the look but also for its build quality. It comes with very narrow frames and does not need a notch, nor a motorized slider, because it is equipped with a single in-display camera. Moreover, it is waterproof and dustproof with IP68 certification, unlike the 10x zoom of Oppo Reno. Huawei P30 is not surprising with its classic drip display of water, but it is resistant to dust and water sprays .

Display

Currently, nobody can beat Samsung when it comes to flagship class OLED displays. The Samsung Galaxy S10 is equipped with an incredible Dynamic AMOLED panel with a QHD + resolution and the HDR10 + standard. It has a very high brightness, perfect color reproduction and a very high level of detail. And it's also a compact display with a 6.1-inch diagonal. Zoom Oppo Reno 10x has a large phablet-class display with a 6.6-inch diagonal, but its resolution is lower and cannot provide the same display quality as the Samsung Galaxy S10.

Software hardware

While Huawei P30 offers a Kirin 980 chipset with a 2.6 GHz clock frequency, the Samsung Galaxy S10 and Oppo Reno's 10x zoom both offer a more powerful Snapdragon 855 which is more suitable for advanced users, modders and players. In its most expensive configuration, Samsung Galaxy 10 has 512 GB of internal memory, while the Oppo Reno 10x zoom stops at 256 GB, but at a cheaper price. In any case, you get a highly personalized user interface based on Android 9 Pie.

camera

It is very difficult to define which of these phones click on the best photos because they vary a lot depending on the environment. All are equipped with a three-camera configuration that includes an ultra-wide lens and a telephoto lens, but have different sensors. The 10x zoom of Huawei P30 and Oppo Reno seems more interesting as the former boasts a primary RYYB sensor that captures a huge amount of light even in dark scenes, while the latter has the new 10x hybrid zoom. But the Samsung Galaxy S10 remains an exceptional camera phone with its variable aperture and its beautiful photos in low light conditions, as well as a front camera that can record 4K videos. To give a final judgment on the cameras of these devices, we will have to thoroughly test the zoom of Oppo Reno 10x.

Battery

We believe that the Oppo Reno 10x zoom will provide longer battery life. The reason is not only the presence of a larger 4065 mAh battery, but also the fact that its display has a lower resolution than Samsung Galaxy S10 (Full HD vs Quad HD). Samsung Galaxy S10 and Huawei P30 have much smaller batteries, so it's unlikely that they will achieve a similar battery life in any of the possible scenarios.

Price

The Oppo Reno 10x zoom starts at € 550 / $ 620, Huawei P30 costs € 680 / $ 766 in its basic variant and the Samsung Galaxy S10 starts at € 770 / $ 867. At the end of the day, Oppo Reno 10x Zoom looks decidedly more promising thanks to the larger battery, the innovative design and the fantastic cameras. But this does not mean that it will be better than Samsung Galaxy S10 and Huawei P30 for all users.
