At the last event in China, Redmi, now working independently of Xiaomi, announced its first product without a telephone: the Redmi 1A washing machine. The next event is expected to take place on May 13, when the brand will introduce Snapdragon 855 flagships and a "another product".
There were suggestions as to which second product could be discussed – even the theory was advanced that it would be a smart home device. However, a new posting on Twitter from the well-known Indian informer Sudhanshu Ambhore says that this is a notebook under the brand Redmi. Yes, an insider reports that Redmi will release its first laptops together with the flagship smartphone (apparently more than one model), similar to the Mi Notebook series by Xiaomi.

There is no other evidence to support this information, but such a move is fairly realistic, since Xiaomi is already producing computers, so its subsidiary is well able to market its own models. In addition, as part of the same approach, Huawei and Honor produce computers from the MateBook and MagicBook series, for example.
The Redmi laptop will, if it really comes out, certainly cheaper than current offers from Xiaomi, but he can also specify certain features such as a discreet video card or use less expensive materials, such as a plastic sleeve. Redmi laptops can also be an exclusive product for China, which would be a major disadvantage.
