MacBook Pro with Magic Keyboard could be the promised 13-inch model

Apple is equally famous and notorious for its obsession with design and, in particular, for making things as scarce as possible. Sometimes that has impressive results, but there are other times when it becomes an exasperating experience. One of the most recent cases, which has actually resulted in a lawsuit, is Apple’s vile butterfly keyboard switches. Apple has finally reused scissor switches on the 16-inch MacBook Pro and now it seems that a new model with the same Magic Keyboard will soon be released.

To be fair, it has always been a matter of “when” rather than “yes.” Given the collective sigh of relief that came when the new keyboard was announced, it is almost inconceivable that Apple will return to the damn switches on the new MacBook models. It could but would shoot in the foot, especially with a pending lawsuit.

A presentation to the Eurasian Economic Commission reveals that a new MacBook will arrive soon. On paper, this A2289 model is described as a “portable personal computer” running macOS 10.15, but what other device does Apple have? No, unless you have a surprise in early 2020, but it is also very unlikely.

Now there are two questions, including which MacBook is destined to debut soon. Ming-chi Kuo predicted that after the 16-inch MacBook Pro was announced with a new keyboard, it would be followed by a 13-inch MacBook Pro and a new MacBook Air in early 2020. If he was right with one, there is a possibility that he is also right in the other, especially given his constant record. And of the next two models, the 13-inch MacBook Pro sounds like a natural next step in the sequence.

That still does not give us an idea of when this new Apple portable personal computer will come out. “Its appearance in the EEC only means that it will arrive soon, but that can take months, especially considering Apple’s release schedules.
