Mobile World Congress 2020 is just around the corner. Today, Sony sent invitations for an event that will take place at the technology fair (through GSM Arena) In this Sony MWC event, we expect the company to launch some smartphones.
The event is scheduled for Monday, February 24, 2020 at 8:30 AM CET (2:30 AM ET that same day). The invitation says that the event will also be broadcast live so you can watch it from home.
The company did not reveal what it will announce at this Sony MWC event, but it is a sure bet that there will be at least one smartphone in the file. So far, we have seen filtered renders of what we presume is the Sony Xperia 5 Plus, a slightly improved version of the Sony Xperia 5 last year.

However, there is a good chance that Sony will also launch a new flagship phone at this event. If so, that device would probably have a Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 processor, 5G connectivity and other high-end 2020 flagship features.
It is also possible that Sony can launch another mid-range device, in addition to or instead of a flagship.
In any case, the Mobile World Congress is about mobile devices, so you can expect at least one smartphone to be launched in the Sony MWC event. We will have boots on the ground at the event, so stay tuned for all the news about the new Xperia devices, whatever they may be.
