Owners of Xbox One have received a fantastic news this week, when BT Sport has launched a spectacular app for large screens, also on Samsung Smart TV and Apple TV.
The app will initially allow access to BT Sport 1, BT Sport 2, BT Sport 3, ESPN, BoxNation and the BT Sport Extra channels.
BT Sport wants to emphasize that it does not have additional costs, but unfortunately meIf you subscribe to BT Sport via BT Mobile or the EE £ 5 / month base contract, you will not have access to those channels.
The new app will finally allow customers to access BT Sport without the need for a set-top box, view content via a second home screen and allow those with a digital subscription to watch on a big screen.
And it comes just in time for the Champions League return tonight, with Manchester United facing Paris Saint-Germain and Tottenham Hotspur will face Borussia Dortmund on Wednesday.
Things will get better even this year, as there are many new excellent features coming up.
Later this year BT Sport will also include on-demand content, highlights, TV listings and the BT Sport 4K UHD channel later this year.
"This improvement will ensure that live sport with extraordinary ultra-high definition is available to more fans, making these devices another way to access 4K content on TV," explains a BT Sport press release.
But this is only the tip of the iceberg, because BT Sport also has some really interesting features.
"BT Sport is developing plans for what is often referred to as" object-based broadcasting ", which will allow viewers to customize and control certain aspects or objects of programs, such as audio or graphics."
"Sample applications may include the ability to control stadium and crowd noise levels compared to comments and blind or partially sighted spectators to access the live sport audio description.
"We are also experimenting with a private video chat service that allows fans to have real-time conversations with up to three friends while watching BT Sport in the same app."
Speaking of the new features, Marc Allera, CEO of the Consumer division of BT, said:
"We are creating even more ways for our customers to watch their favorite sport in breathtaking high definition wherever they are.
"We are working to offer our customers an unrivaled choice, with the best content, the most intelligent devices and the latest technologies through partnerships with the most innovative companies in the world.
"Making BT Sport available on Apple TV, Samsung TV and Xbox is just one of the ways we bring a great sport to even more customers and create the best sports viewing experiences in the UK."
