Ford offers Super Duty Tremor buyers a winch option

When it comes to off-road, there are often times when you need some extra help to get out of the mud or overcome obstacles. For moments like that, a winch is useful. Ford has announced that it will offer a factory-installed winch option or after purchase to pick up the 2020 Ford Super Duty Tremor package.

Warn calls the new winch option the Ford Performance Parts winch, and has 12,000 pounds of winch power. The winch is available for both Tremor package trucks with gasoline and diesel engines. The winch was developed in cooperation with Warn and is specifically designed to meet the standards of Built Ford Tough, says the automaker.

The winch was built with safety and crash capability in mind and is fully integrated with the mounting behind the truck’s steel bumper. The assembly design allows for optimized air and space flow regardless of engine choice. Ford says the winch uses a synthetic cable with high tensile strength and abrasion resistant.

The winch offers Ford owners the only wireless remote control in its class and has a provision for a wired remote control. The winch is not a cheap option with a price set at $ 3,000 with availability in mid-2020. That price makes the winch much more expensive than the aftermarket units.

The Ford Super Duty Tremor package was announced last summer. It is offered on XLT, Lariat, King Ranch and Platinum F-250 and F-350 trucks. You can have the new Godzilla V8 7.3-liter or the 6.7-liter Power Stroke diesel. Super Duty trucks have a maximum trailer of 15,000 pounds with conventional trailers and up to 21,900 pounds for goosenecks with the available diesel engine.
