Almost a decade ago (!) In 2011, EA launched Tetris for mobile devices, followed by Tetris Blitz in 2013. Being the only way to play “official” Tetris on your phone, the two applications have been extremely popular for classic fans. brick stacking game. Unfortunately, EA is finishing his career with Tetris and will leave the games in April.
Although applications should be discontinued on April 21, 2020, they have already disappeared from the Play Store and are inaccessible to new users. Existing users can continue playing in the meantime. The cached versions of the Tetris and Tetris Blitz listings are still available if you want a trip down the memory lane, and Tetris has been renamed “Tetris 2011” at some point.
While initially this name change would suggest a new 2020 version of the application on the way, developer N3TWORK is already working hard on a beta version of another new Tetris game, Tetris Royale. With EA not interested in renewing his license, N3TWORK will have to meet his Tetris needs for now, even if that means accepting Royale’s riff in the popular royal battle system, in which he wins the last one that stands out among 100 players.
EA released a brief statement on the matter:
We’ve had an amazing trip with you so far, but unfortunately, it’s time to say goodbye. Beginning April 21, 2020, EA’s Tetris® application will be withdrawn and will no longer be available for play. Please note that you can still enjoy the game and use any existing elements in the game until April 21, 2020. We hope you enjoyed this game for many hours and appreciate your continued support. Thank you!
