Controversy surrounding postman GOP Illinois Facebook poster

This movie meme has been published and subsequently deleted from the IRCCA Facebook page.

ILLINOIS – A movie poster meme depicting four women of Congress as the "Jihad Team" was published and subsequently deleted on Saturday from the Facebook page of the Republican Illinois County Association (IRCCA). The president of the organization stated that the post is not authorized.

The poster includes democratic representatives Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez from New York, Ilhan Omar of Minnesota, Ayanna Pressley of Massachusetts e Rashida Tlaib of Michigan. These were the same four women targeted in a series of tweets from President Donald Trump earlier this week.

IRCCA president Mark Shaw apologized in a statement as to whether "anyone who saw the image was offended by the content".

"This unauthorized publication is an unfortunate distraction from the serious debate surrounding the policies advocated by these four socialist members of the House of Representatives of the United States, of which I strongly disagree," continued Shaw's statement.

The president of the GOP of Illinois, Tim Schneider, released this statement on the page of the Republican President of Illinois:

"I strongly condemn the re-enactment of race or religion as the basis for political disagreement. The recent post on social media coming from the IRCCA does not reflect my values or the values of the Republican Party of Illinois. Bigoted rhetoric distracts "Greatly by legitimate and important political debates and further divides our nation. My intense disagreement with socialist policies and the anti-Semitic language of these four congressmen has absolutely nothing to do with their race or religion. I urge all those who oppose also to maintain the rhetoric centered on politics and political ideology ".
