Apple Music is full in the United States
According to the Wall Street Journal, Apple Music now has more paid subscribers than Spotify in the United States. Indeed, the service signed Apple would have risen 2.6% the previous month, against 1.5% for Spotify. In numbers, this means that Apple Music can have more than 28 million subscribers, compared to 26 million for Spotify. Remember that Apple Music is installed on all iPhone, among other things.
The Wall Street Journal states that these are only paying subscribers, excluding those who benefit from a trial offer. A major achievement for Apple, even though the American giant hoped to move to Spotify at the end of last year. The promotions launched by the latter, including a partnership with the Hulu service, have somewhat delayed the deadline.
Note that these figures only relate to the US market. Spotify remains very clear for Apple Music in the world, with just under 100 million paying subscribers at the end of last year. Including subscribers to the free offer, Spotify has more than 207 million active users. On the Apple Music side, the number of subscribers in the world is around 50 million.
Remember that Spotify has just launched a brand new Duo offer. An offer that allows two premium accounts to be grouped on the same invoice for a monthly amount of 12.49 euros. Each user of course has his own Premium account, the only novelty is the appearance of a "Duo Mix" playlist that offers songs that group the taste of both users.
