Taylor, untouchable as a Boston reliever

With relatively little publicity, left-hander Josh Taylor is in the midst of an impressive streak as a reliever for the Red Sox.

The coach pitched a perfect eighth inning Monday for Boston against Kansas City, extending his run-free string of appearances to 23, the longest in the majors in 2021.

In that stretch, Taylor has thrown 18.1 innings, preserved 19 leads and has a WHIP of 0.78, while striking out 11.78 batters per nine innings.
