Swimming: LA Cup Qualifiers & H2O Sport Success

H2O Sport achieved notable results in the first stage of the Los Angeles Cup, earning passes for the National Youth Criteria and recording positive performances from its athletes. The competition featured male and female swimmers in various disciplines.

In the women’s sector, Lorena Andrea Visan won the 50 and 100 butterfly with times of 28″44 and 1’03″13, obtaining in both races the pass for the National Youth Criteria in the 2010 junior category. Visan also won gold in the 100 backstroke with a time of 1’05″72. Sofia Silvaroli won the 100 breaststroke (1’11″40), in the 200 breaststroke (2’35″58) and in the 200 medley (2’24″74), also winning silver in the 50 breaststroke with 33″60. Sofia Cavina obtained three medals: silver in the 50 butterfly (29″20) and in the 50 backstroke (29″85), and bronze in the 50 freestyle (27″59).

Nicole Santorelli placed second in the 200 backstroke (2’28″89) and third in the 100 backstroke (1’08″73). Nicole De Lena finished second in the 200 butterfly in 2’59”92, while Karola De Lena came third in the 100 butterfly (1’16”72). Andrea Pipirigeanu won bronze in the 400 freestyle with 4’55″85. Solidea Tranquillo took third place in the 200 breaststroke (2’49″98), Sofia Sciulli in the 100 medley (1’12″28) and Michela Melone in the 200 backstroke (2’39″24).

In the men’s sector, Lorenzo Aiello won the 50 butterfly (26″25) and the 100 butterfly (56″81), obtaining the time limit for the 2010 boys’ category National Youth Criteria in both races. Ilario Menna he won the 200 breaststroke (2’25″49) and the 200 medley (2’12″08), as well as the 1500 freestyle (17’06″04), and took third place in the 100 breaststroke (1’07″69). Umberto Antonio Zitti won the 50 freestyle (24″76) and obtained two silvers in the 100 freestyle (53″62) and the 200 freestyle (1’58″87). Jacopo Marzola won gold in the 200 freestyle (1’57″85) and silver in the 400 freestyle (4’18″43).

Emanuele Florio took the second step of the podium in the 50m freestyle (24″81) and obtained two bronzes in the 50m butterfly (26″72) and in the 100m butterfly (59″97). Jordan Coco placed second in the 50m backstroke (27″46) and third in the 50m freestyle (24″89) and in the 100m freestyle (53″76). Jacopo De Lena he obtained second place in the 100 backstroke (59″66) and in the 200 backstroke (2’09″83), as well as a bronze in the 50 backstroke (27″80). Ivan Rinaldi obtained third place in the 800 freestyle (10’03″70), as did Davide Di Lello in the 50 breaststroke (31″74).
