Many people in the Düren district are currently concerned with the consequences of the flood disaster. Nevertheless, some events will also take place in the next few days, about which we will inform you in our weekly overview.

Corona and weather

The corona incidence value has risen to double-digit values ​​again in the past few days. Therefore, the district of Düren will probably be upgraded to incidence level 1 shortly. More information on this in our corona update.

Fortunately, the weather has calmed down after last week’s disaster. For the next few days temperatures over 20 degrees have been announced, on Saturday it could rain a little.

Events from July 21st to 27th

The Düren summer special has started. Music is made in the Kulturbahnhof and Komm. There are new films and various museums have other promotions on offer.

Düren summer special

The summer special was opened on the Annakirmesplatz last Saturday and will take place every day except Mondays until the beginning of August. The mobile amusement park is open from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. Due to the higher corona incidence, however, a negative test or proof of vaccination will probably be necessary.


The campfire trio will give a concert at Kulturbahnhof Jülich on Friday, July 23rd at 7.30 p.m. The trio, known from many appearances in the region, plays its own songs and well-known hits from pop and rock. On Sunday at 11.00 a.m. there will be a noiseless concert with country musician Jolina Carl.

The Düren dialect band Schweess Fööss will give an open-air concert with music from various genres in the Komm Kulturzentrum on Saturday, July 24th at 7:00 p.m.


The Kuba in Jülich has on Monday and Tuesday, 26./27. Cinema films on offer again in July. The children’s film “Peter Rabbit 2 – A rabbit leaves the field” is shown at 5:00 pm and the Spanish comedy “Rosa’s Wedding” is shown for adults at 8:00 pm. In addition to the extensive daily offer on Sunday, July 25, the Düren Lumen offers a special campaign with the film “Catweazle” and a fundraising campaign for the flood victims.

The Leopold Hoesch Museum invites you to the next museum dialogue. On Thursday, July 22nd, at 7 p.m. Kathrin Jentjens, freelance curator and mediator for “New Client”, will talk to the artist Alex Müller from Düren about her current exhibition “From Mowing to Peace”.

The Linnich Glass Painting Museum is continuing its series of summer workshops for children. On Friday, July 23rd, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., the focus is on oriental lanterns.

A theater workshop for children will take place in the Nideggen Castle Museum from Tuesday, July 27th to Thursday, July 29th, starting at 11 a.m.
