“No more than 76 million soles have been invested. That money is being saved for the project of free entrance to the universities”, he insisted, adding that, in the case of Beca 18, the reduction is from 5,000 to 1,194 vacancies.
The sit-in began outside the Ministry of Education (Minedu) in the morning hours and then, in the afternoon, he moved to Congress.
Casas commented that they will meet with some congressmen. “We have an appointment with congressmen Sigrid Bazán, Flor Pablo and Alex Paredes so that they can take measures on behalf of the people.”

He indicated that, regarding Beca 18, not only do you have to look at the quantitative part but also analyze the technical part and who benefits from this stimulus program.
“We must refer to how this Scholarship 18 is being given, to whom it benefits, how many scholarships are given, where is it oriented, whether to the public university or private university. We have to see how it has been opened so that now students who graduate from private educational institutions have the option of entering Beca 18 “, he argued without giving further explanations about the impact on more than 19,000 applicants who apply each year to the selection process Pronabec.
And he added that “there is a need to rethink certain issues, a study must be carried out that allows support for those who do not have, in this issue it is not only the quantitative view, it is the technical view and who benefits.” However, he did not indicate dates or deadlines to carry out this analysis.
At another point he pointed to canal N that what he wants is that people who do not have resources can be served with free income and also that Beca 18 attends with pertinent regulations.
“It cannot be possible that the people who really require this support are being displaced,” he said.
He also referred to the appointment of María Tarazona as head of Pronabec and said he meets the requirements for the position. Tarazona was deputy minister of the Midis, but she resigned.
