German boxing is hoping that Vincent Feigenbutz (Karlsruhe) can continue to dream of a World Cup fight. The 23-year-old super middleweight defeated Spaniard Cesar Nunez on Saturday evening in Ludwigshafen by technical K.o. in the eighth round.
With his 31st victory in the 33rd professional fight, Feigenbutz defended the world cup belt of the small association GBU.
Feigenbutz has been speculating for some time about a world title for the four major federations (WBA, WBO, WBC and IBF). "We want to attack upstairs and look for our chances, we'll take what comes," he said after the fight against Nunez Sport1,
Feigenbutz was the 2015 WBA Interim World Champion, but lost the battle for the regular WBA World Cup against the Italian Giovanni de Carolis in 2016.
