The Chelsea winger, Willian, will miss the start of pre-season training.
But it has nothing to do with the accident.
The thirty-year-old was called up for the Copa America team in the summer, replacing superstar Paris Saint-Germain Neymar after suffering an ankle problem at the start of the week.
Was confirmed Friday afternoon that Willian will take the former star of Barcelona and will wear the number 10 shirt, marking an upgrade on the number 19 jersey he wore at the World Cup last summer in Russia.
With this summer tournament at home, Brazil should reach the final stages and if they reach the final on 7 July, Willian will miss the beginning of the pre-season with the Blues.
The offensive midfielder will be no stranger to connecting with his teammates later than expected after doing exactly the same 12 months ago after the World Cup.
However, he hopes to get an easier return to Cobham than last year, as he eventually reported for pre-season training – almost a week after his return – as passport-related issues delayed his return in England.
Among the links with a summer transfer to Manchester United and Real Madrid was the speculation that Willian's absence was tied to his future.
However, football.london reported that he was actually experiencing problems with his passport and that his late arrival was approved by the West London team.
