Konstantinos Mavropanos never had the chance to make his mark in an Arsenal shirt.
The 21-year-old arrived from his homeland in Greece in January 2018, but an injury saw him make only seven first team appearances in his 19 months at the club.
A groin injury plagued him throughout the 2018/19 season and a similar injury disturbed his start to the current season. However, the defender could now be on his way back, as he returned to training and passed two U21 games, against Leicester City and Wolves, unharmed.
The return to the action of the first team will now be the next step in the youngster's recovery, although he has yet to be included in one of the teams of Unai Emery's day.
Judging from a video put on Twitter by the player on Friday afternoon, nothing is done wrong in getting back into the team showing his skill in training.
The clip shows Mavropanos beating midfielder Mattero Gunedouzi before pulling a shot into the goal's internal net during a training game at the London Colony.
The caption next to the video says "step by step".
The clip captured the imagination of watching the Arsenal fans, who let the defender know what they thought of his future prospects for the club.
Although a fan was quick to remind the defender what his main task would have been if he had been selected by Emery in the coming weeks.
Arsenal will host Bournemouth in the Premier League on Sunday, where Mavropanos will be hoping to get the flavor of its first Premier League minutes this season.
