Premier League News: Christian Pulisic, USMNT star, would not go to Manchester United because of Jose Mourinho, the former coach states

The Special One has inadvertently assured that Chelsea's perspective has never become a Red Devil, with the USMNT star choosing instead to join the Blues

The rise of US national team star Christian Pulisic refused to move to Manchester United because of his father's dislike of Jose Mourinho.

According to Robin Walker, who coached Pulisic in Brackley Town in 2005, the non-striker team never thought of going to the Old Trafford because of their former coach.

Mourinho's lack of experience in giving young people a chance saw Pulisic's father almost block the potential move with the twenty-year-old instead of signing for Blues in January with Walker's encouragement.

"He wouldn't have gone to Manchester United because of Jose Mourinho," Walker said The Telegraph. "His father couldn't stand Mourinho because he didn't promote young players.

"It was at that point that I asked:" What do you think of London? Here is where it is. & # 39;

"I'm a Chelsea fan, I grew up in London supporting them. When I was in Dortmund last year, I told him he had to come."

Signing for Chelsea at the beginning of the year before being lent directly to Borussia Dortmund, Pulisic started the Premier League season at Stamford Bridge and the first signs are encouraging.

After starting and claiming an assist in defeating the UEFA Super Cup Blues against Liverpool, the American winger played 71 minutes against Leicester City over the weekend with his coach impressed by what he was seeing.

"I'm really happy with him," Lampard said last week.

"It's a lot, much more to come. Once again, [it's showing] all the good signs of what it can be for the club.

"The expectation is right, it's a great signing for us but you have to remember its age."

While Lampard is trying to keep Pulisic on the ground, former Blues striker Tony Cascarino recently said that the striker could one day equal the quality of Eden Hazard.

"Christian Pulisic seems to be a very dangerous player for Chelsea," said Cascarino Times.

"I don't remember that a young Eden Hazard is the quickest and most direct and is not the reason why Pulisic cannot become a player of the position of Hazard.

"Pulisic reminds me of Arjen Robben, you can't stop him one on one because you don't know which way he will go and his pace is devastating.

"It will be a great resource for Frank Lampard this season."
