This is according to the Match of the Day expert Alan Shearer, who believes that the French can prove fundamental in the fifth round.

The World Cup winner turned his career in the United States under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Pogba was an unused substitute in the last game of Jose Mourinho at the head of the club.

But now he is enjoying the highest season of his career having scored 13 goals in all competitions.

The former Newcastle United striker claims that N 'Golo Kante will have to be on top of his game to try and nullify his compatriot.

"The PSG showed last Tuesday how you can beat Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's team and we know that Chelsea has the ability to play like PSG – it's only if they want it," Sherer told The Sun.

"The French team has canceled United by forcing Marquinhos to sit on Paul Pogba, preventing him from playing and dictating the pace of the game.

"So if Chelsea can stop Pogba, they will have excellent chances to win.

"And this means that the battle between N & Golo Kante and his team-mate in France will be crucial to the outcome of the game."

Pogba was sent off against Ligue 1 leaders in a disappointing Champions League defeat last week.

Darren Fletcher believes that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer should try to expose Jorginho using Pogba.

"Personally, I would have put Pogba directly against Jorginho – in the first place to stop him, because if you give the midfielder of Italy dictate the game and make Chelsea beat, but also because of the damage that the French midfielder could do when he United reconquers the ball, "he wrote in his analysis column for BBC Sport.

"Jorginho is not in that role to be a defensive midfielder – he is there as a playmaker, Pogba is much stronger than him and, in the form he is in, will cause all sorts of problems if they go head to head when 39; United attack.

"There is however more than one way for Solskjaer to do it, however.

"If he goes with the diamond again, he could put Pogba at the end and bring another midfielder – for example, Fred, to play left.

"In this way, United would overtake Chelsea four or three in midfield and Pogba is still sitting on Jorginho, who will be at the base of Chelsea's midfield, no matter what."
