Cesc Fabregas has taken on Twitter to make a joke at the expense of teammate Danny Drinkwater after the Chelsea midfielder has been accused of driving while intoxicated.
The 29-year-old was arrested after crashing his Range Rover in the early hours of Monday morning, requesting treatment for minor injuries, and was released on bail.
Although Chelsea issued a statement that refuses to comment until all the facts were established, Fabregas was rather more willing to get involved, jabbing his old midfield rival on social media.
Responding to a story about the arrest of Drinkwater, Fabregas tweeted a simple word in two words: "Danny Drinkwhat?"
The comment was immediately accepted by the fans who laughed at Leicester's ex man for his skepticism with the law.
Drinkwater, who is about to appear at the Stockport court of May 13, spent 18 months playing alongside Fabregas at Stamford Bridge.
However, this season he did not play a minute of Premier League action under Maurizio Sarri and is considered in excess of the requirements.
Last time it was the Blues in the Community Shield against Manchester City in August.
In fact, Drinkwater has only made the team of the day in two games since then in all competitions: at home in Cardiff in September and against Derby in the EFL Cup.
Fabregas fought for the game time in the same way as Sarri, but left the Stamford Bridge for Monaco in the January window.
