The Red Devils will try to anticipate Arsenal as they take off before the Gunners face Chelsea at Emirates Stadium

Manchester United are aiming for seven consecutive wins since Ole Gunnar Solskjaer took the lead when he faces Brighton at Old Trafford on Saturday.

The interim boss equaled Sir Matt Busby's record of winning his first five consecutive row matches when his team beat Tottenham on Sunday, but could outstrip that record with this weekend's win.

Chris Hughton's team will not be an easy opponent, however, after giving Liverpool a tough test on the south coast last time.

The Reds won 1-0 thanks to a penalty by Mohamed Salah, but Jurgen Klopp later admitted that it was a hard fought victory and praised Brighton's organization and his ability to fight back.

Preview of the match

Marcus Rashford Manchester United

United could pass in front of the fifth Arsenal for the first time since Mourinho was fired in December if he picked up a point against Brighton.

The Gunners do not kick off Chelsea until 5.30pm (GMT), and with the Blues in fourth place – six points higher than United and Arsenal – the Red Devils will gain ground on at least one of their rivals if they win at Old Trafford.

Solskjaer has already filled an eight-point gap on Unai Emery's side, and hopes that Marcus Rashford and Paul Pogba will continue their good form to further increase United's four best hopes.

The duo joined for the Reds' goal when they beat Tottenham 1-0 at Wembley last week.

Pogba came out after the game and admitted that he was enjoying Solskjaer's style after struggling with negative tactics before the Norwegian event.

Solskjaer also thanked goalkeeper David de Gea for the win when the Spaniard pulled out 11 saves in the second half.

But the Reds will be looking for revenge when they accept the Seagull on Saturday, after losing their last two games against Hughton's team.

The Manchester club was beaten 1-0 at Amex in May of last year before another disappointing trip on the south coast in August, ending in a 3-2 defeat.

Brighton has a strong defensive record with only 30 goals conceded in the 22 Premier League games this season, and will test the form of attack that United has shown in recent weeks.
