The Ajax captain Matthijs de Ligt left Manchester United with a red face after snubbing his offer to move to the Old Trafford.
According to David Ornstein of BBC Sport, the Red Devils are the only club to have submitted an offer for the nineteen-year-old Dutch starlet.
But De Ligt, who was also linked to Juventus and Barcelona, has no interest in switching to United.
United suffered a flaw last season when they slipped to sixth in the Premier League.
Ole Gunnar Solskjær would like the addition of a highly regarded player like De Ligt in his defensive options.
But the central defender would miss the Champions League ball if he were to move to United.
Barcelona has been widely recognized as the favorite to land at De Ligt this summer, but Juventus is ready to challenge them for the sought-after Dutch talent.
The champions of the Serie A are ready to offer 60 million pounds for the player, but the Ajax requires a tax in the region of 75 million pounds.
De Ligt, who was named the best under-20 player in the world in the Équipe ranking, continued to flirt with the idea of playing in Turin and alongside Cristiano Ronaldo.
"Everything is going fast: during the season, in the club and during the various competitions, you really don't have time to think about it," he said at the Dutch Voetbal International outlet.
"However, sometimes I realize it, recently when I was dining with my childhood friends with whom I played.
"We came to the conclusion that I always wanted to be Cristiano Ronaldo when we played soccer in the garden.
"Especially during the time he played at Manchester United. Even my first football shirt was his.
"That dinner took place immediately after the two challenges against Juventus, in which I had to face Ronaldo."
The boss of the former Juventus and England, Fabio Capello, recently said that the arrival of De Ligt at the Old Lady would have effectively put an end to any challenge for the title of a rival team .
Which club will land De Ligt in the summer?
