Latest Arsenal transfer rumors: Gunners boost in Pepe chase, next Toni Kroos responds to links

The transfer window may have been closed for almost four weeks now, but despite that Arsenal remain linked with summer moves for a number of different players.

Denis Suarez appears to be signing that the Gunners are less and less likely to make new names.

However, the most key position that Arsenal still need filling is that of their technical director, former player Marc Overmars and Roma's sporting director Monchi were the most prominent names.

Nevertheless, Arsenal are said to be advance in their transfer plans and these are the latest updates on those stories and the newest transfer rumors involving Arsenal.

Nicolas Pepe

Bayern Munich has long been the favorites to sign Pepper from Lille has recently been made to suggest the Bundesliga side were making their final efforts to sign the winger before his value could receive any higher.

The German side are reportedly wary of the Champions League qualification impacting the potential of the season.

Bein Sport even reported that the European giants had made offer in the region of € 80 million, while Sports suggested that the Gunners' new kit manufacturer Adidas may even be involved in that proposal.

However, Sky Sports in Germany believe that Bayern Munich have not made the mammoth bid for Pepe that was reported but that negotiations have appeared to be underway between the Bavarian side and Lille.

The Gunners could compete for Ivory Coast International, their recent form has certainly helped with one criteria.

Earlier this year Lille boss Christophe Galtier noted Pepe must go to a club in Europe's premier competition.

"He has to go to the Champions League club," said the 52-year-old, in comments reported by Metro. "In my opinion, he does not need an intermediate step to go as high as possible."

Arsenal are already focused on qualifying for the Champions League having missed out on the top four in their final two seasons under Arsene Wenger. They are in fourth position clear of Manchester United.

Kieran Tierney

Reports from Leicester suggest their left back Ben Chilwell is set for the summer – that could be bad news for Arsenal.

Tottenham and Manchester City £ 75 million valuation that was suggested earlier this season.

Leicester's stance, The Premier League Champions might not have stumped that much after the report.

The Foxes are expected to turn to Kieran Tierney as a replacement which would see a reunion with Brendan Rodgers, and add some competition to Arsenal's chances of signing the highly rated full-back.

Following Rodgers appointment in the east Midlands, a number of rumors emerging about his former charge but Chilwell departs it makes the possibility more real. Tierney is just 18 months into a six-year-deal and is expected around £ 30 million would be required for a successful bid.

Celtic's left back played played cool when asked about the rumors. He said: "There are rumors like that. I've seen and heard them as well."

"I was on the end of speculation for few transfer windows so I 'm nothing different for me. It doesn't take my mind off Celtic.

"My pals ask me too and there will be links with Celtic players. It 's natural because it' s his old club but it 's nothing I know of.

"We thank him for all the work he has done to help me become a much better player and professional.

"The standards he set changed football up here. What we achieved over time was crazy, but we are looking forward to it. We need to look forward."

Dominik Szoboszlai

Reports from AS suggested earlier this season that Arsenal is in the hunt for the signature of Hungarian wonderkid Dominik Szoboszlai this summer and now the youngster has had his say on a potential move.

The 18-year-old currently plies his trade with RB Salzburg in the Bundesliga and is reported to cost around € 10 million

Reported by Teamtalk he said: A lot of people say that my style of play is close to Sergej Milinkovic-Savic [of Lazio] and Toni Kroos [of Real Madrid]. It is a great thing to hear that.

"There has been a lot of speculation recently [about my future]. Of course, it is a huge honor to be linked with giant clubs like Juventus, Bayern or Arsenal, but this stage of my career, I focus only on my current duties and development at Salzburg.

“A great team and a great team. My goal is to earn a regular spot in the midfield. Everything else can only like after that. Every day player wants to play in one of the top leagues and the Champions League one day.

“I am not an exception, but there is a lot of work ahead of me to achieve that. I am in a good way, but the journey has only just begun. "
