Atlanta Hawks veteran Chandler Parsons was involved in a car accident after Wednesday’s practice and was diagnosed with a concussion and whiplash, according to Yahoo.
Parsons entered the NBA concussion protocol and was officially ruled out by Friday’s tilt in San Antonio.
The 31-year-old forward recently discussed with the inactive team for the “foreseeable future,” while the Hawks continue their youth movement.
It is the last injury of Parsons, who has fought against wrist problems this season while finishing his maximum contract of four years and $ 94 million. That contract, along with its declining production, makes it a more likely purchase candidate than an NBA commercial deadline chip.
Parsons has played just five games this season, averaging 2.8 points in 10.8 minutes per.
