Alex Iwobi was not disturbed by the critics during the "positive" season of the Arsenal

With two games left before the end of the season, the Nigerian international is optimistic: the Gunners can win a ticket for the Champions League

The Gunners are two points below the Champions League after losing three games in a row against Crystal Palace, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Leicester City.

Despite the recent low number of Premier League results, midfielder Alex Iwobi is optimistic and can reach the goal of playing in the best European competition next season.

"We hope to succeed [top four]"Said Iwobi Planet Sport Football Africa.

"We will try to focus on ourselves and it seems very feasible. We just need to concentrate.

"We hope to be able to get that top four for the team, the players and even the fans."

Iwobi has enjoyed more playing time this season, presenting 48 games and scoring five goals in all competitions, as well as providing six assists.

"I am destined to be strong and of course everyone has their opinion, I don't really look at that," he said in response to his critics.

"I try to focus on the positive and not dwell more on the negative I can. If I make a mistake I try to use it as a lesson and try to improve it. We also have many good fans.

"They have a right to their own opinion and I'm happy with the progress I've made this season. I was able to get more goals than I had in the previous season and I had some assists.

"As long as I'm progressing and trying to do my best for the team, that's what really matters."

Nigeria will participate in the Africa Cup of Nations 2019 in Egypt, scheduled for June and July.

And Iwobi believes the Super Eagles can win the tournament for the fourth time in their history.

"Even though we had a difficult campaign, we managed to get over the group," he added.
