Adrien Rabiot's agent, who is also his mother, opened the door to a potential transfer to Manchester United after denying that his son has already accepted a transfer to Barcelona.
The French midfielder will leave Paris Saint-Germain this summer, with relations between the midfielder and the Ligue 1 giants at historic lows.
Rabiot's contract will expire in the summer, with a series of European clubs interested in signing him including Premier League champions Manchester United, Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur.
Reports have stated that the 23-year-old has already agreed to a transfer to Barcelona, however, his mother, Veronique, has denied these rumors.
"Everybody says we have already signed with a club," he told the Equipe. "But we haven't signed anywhere!
& # 39; We didn't really have the opportunity to worry. At the end of last year, I said that I would not talk to any club before January 1st.
& # 39; I've been out of this world for over two months, with all our misfortunes. There are priorities in life. They were elsewhere for us.
When asked about agents' calls, he added: "Not so much. Some have realized that our personal situation is difficult.
"I have the courage to believe that there are still elegant people in this environment. I could have the weakness to believe it. & # 39;
In an explosive interview with the French newspaper, Rabiot's mother claims that her son is a "prisoner" and a "hostage" at the Parc des Princes.
He smoked: "Adrien is a prisoner. He is even hostage to PSG. Soon it will be dry bread, water and prison! This environment is cruel …
"A footballer is made to play, not to stay in the closet. Adrien doesn't play from December, and probably until June.
& # 39; Reported in a professional career, six months is huge! He is taken hostage because he does not want to re-sign while respecting his contract. Adrien only asks for this: to respect his contract. "
