A former Premier League star believes that Mohamed Salah is the third best player in the world, with the rank "just behind Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi".

With Liverpool losing some of their best players in Luis Suarez and Philippe Coutinho to Barcelona in recent years, former Reds star Luis Garcia warned the Anfield outfit that failure to win trophies could eventually lead Salah to leave the club.

"If Liverpool wins trophies, I think it will be much easier for the club to keep Mo Salah," he told the Daily mirror.
"We know that Barcelona and Real Madrid will be on the market for the best players in the summer.
"And if you talk about the best players in the world now, Mo Salah should be included.
"I have seen that Barca and Madrid are interested in him and in the past, with Suarez and Coutinho, we have seen how difficult it is for players to say & # 39; no & # 39; if they get the chance to of those clubs.
"At the moment, however, I think Liverpool is a different club than they were. Last year, they reached the final of the Champions League, this time they challenged the Premier League and reached the Champions League (again final).
"They are now a club with the potential to win the big trophies."
The former Spanish international also stated that it would be difficult for Salah to bring down the Spanish giants if their interest in the former Chelsea star became more concrete.
"If Barcelona or Real Madrid come, you will be flattered, probably the only two teams that a Liverpool player would think about," Garcia added.
"At the moment, Liverpool is also a club that gives you the chance to win trophies – and they now want to take that final step.
"There is no doubt that Salah would be a star at Real Madrid or Barcelona, because he has such fantastic quality.
"I hear people compare him to (Lionel) Messi, that's a bit too much for me, but he has that speed and skill and he could perform for any team in the world.
"In my opinion, he is just behind Messi and (Cristiano) Ronaldo – on the same level as (Eden) Hazard and (Raheem) Sterling."
