Sonic the Hedgehog, one of the most iconic and beloved brands in the industry, is excited to announce its 35th anniversary this year. Since his debut in 1991, Sonic has marked generations with his signature speed, attitude and style, expanding far beyond his groundbreaking video game origins to create new characters and worlds, blockbuster movies, animated television series, music, merchandise and much more. To kick off the celebrations, SEGA has released a new anniversary trailer to build anticipation and look back at Sonic’s best moments from the last 35 years.
Over the next year, SEGA will launch a series of high-energy anniversary programs designed to celebrate Sonic’s legacy and bring together fans around the world. Planned activities include digital content highlighting Sonic’s evolution over the decades, fan gatherings and community gatherings, exclusive collaborations with brands and stores with limited products, pop-up museums and art exhibitions, live concerts and a new narrative podcast.
