From January 18, distance learning will be canceled for all schoolchildren in Moscow. Mayor Sergei Sobyanin announced this in his blog.
“The decision to abolish distance learning in high school was very difficult. The guys are tired of sitting at home. But the risk of an increase in the incidence among schoolchildren is still very high. Therefore, schools must strictly observe the measures of epidemiological safety, ”Sobyanin wrote.
In order to prevent the spread of the disease, classes will again be transferred to distance education if even one case of infection is detected.
The rest of the restrictions are extended by a week – until Thursday, January 21st. Universities, colleges, organizations of additional education and sports schools will work remotely or extend the holidays. For the same period, the ban on the work of catering and leisure establishments at night in Moscow is being extended.
Sobyanin explained that the extension of the restrictions for another week is due to the position of the epidemiologists. “In the opinion of epidemiologists, the coming days will clarify the emerging trend in Moscow, which will allow making decisions for a longer period. If there is no deterioration and the stabilization of the current incidence rate becomes stable, we will consider the possibility of mitigating a number of other restrictions, ”he explained.
